What went on at Da Jesters and getting on the score sheet

It has been a hectic few weeks getting Da Jesters organised but I’m glad to say it’s all over now for another year and it was a great success. We raised £2,668 in total for The Injured Jockeys Fund which...

Racing, Stress, a Sneaky Pic and a Poem

Out with the old and in with the new!  Last season finished on Saturday, and I fell one winner short of my target of ten, much to my annoyance and only I had 163 rides but I did stay relatively...

End of Season, Injuries and the Future of the Weighing Roomm

It’s Wednesday and it's one of those days where after galloping a few horses, in the driving rain at Towcester, I had organised a game of golf as I wasn’t racing. However, due to the rain and waterlogging, I had...

0pen Day, The National, Shaggy and Da Jesters Nominations

A busy week has pasted with The Lesters, The Lambourn Open Day and Bank Holiday racing. I passed on The Lesters this year as I tend to go every 2 years. I heard a cracking night was had, with most...

Dentist, Sheehan, Da Jesters Nominations and Big-Boy Bolge

The past week I’ve been flat out, riding out and racing, taking me to all parts of the country. All my mounts got placed, but no winners, and that has now left me one behind Mark Grant in our bet...

Noel ‘Festival’ Fehily, ChampDAwG, Baldness and Da Jesters

Some really cracking racing last week, with tight finishes, some class horses and a little bit of controversy! Yes, I attended Stratford, Huntingdon, Towcester, Fakenham and Ffos Las where the real action was…  Now the reason I was there and not...

Winners, 'Scrooge' McCarty and the Fehily family

Seventeen days had passed in February with no ride due to the snow and frost so it was great to get back into action on Friday at Fakenham. When you’re off injured as a jockey all you work for and...

'Da Bald' Grant, hunting and what happens when you beat me!

We missed the best part of six weeks racing last year due to snow and freezing weather and, having got through the toughest months of December and January, I thought we were going to be ok this year. How wrong...

About David

Now then, I'm David Crosse, and I'm a professional Jump racing jockey- I'm originally from Tipperary, but am now based in Lambourn in Berkshire- the home of jump racing.

I'm also a walking accident, I've broken bones in place people didn't even know they had bones. I've recently returned from a bad leg injury, and started riding again at the end of September 2010. I'm back and fully fit now though!

I'm going to talk you through my journey back into the saddle, and give you the behind the scenes look at being a jockey- and also hopefully entertain you with the absolute random stuff we get up to.

Jump racing is the best thing in the world, I love my job and I can’t wait to get back doing it again after so long off. I am also looking forward to sharing the craic we have in the weighing room with the viewers of lovetheraces.com. It is the side of the sport that very few people see so it’s going to be pretty special.

Stick with me, it's going to get ridiculous!
