LoveATtheraces.com?

The thunder of hooves, the buzz of the crowd, the excitement of a bet, glorious scenery and top class facilities...I figured that a day at the races could make the perfect first date, so I decided to test this theory...

Sandown Gentlemen's Day

Gentlemen’s day must be one of the best events of the year….for men and women!  Our day out involved playing black jack in between races, demolishing the salt beef sandwiches and the bar and still having enough time to...

Newmarket videos

Here it is....Matty bragging about third place.  Us showing the newest way to choose a horse and me being cocky before my moment of madness, not betting on my 54-1 horse that came in!     &...

The Wimp of Newmarket

The phrase ‘those who dare, win’ has never been more relevant as right now.  Unfortunately I didn’t realise you have to apply this line of thinking for the entire day for it to work.   Apart from being a...

Beer festivals, Bad weather and Bad luck

Well….it’s a shame to admit it but I really needed my lucky tote lady last Friday, and so did my mates. We decided to head to the Transformers and Rectifiers day at Ascot on Friday instead of the big...

How will I fare without my lucky Tote lady?

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt from my first ‘voice of the races’ expedition it’s that you should stick to a winning formula. The problem with this is, my lucky tote lady is all the way in Doncaster and...

IN YOUR FACE TABITHA!

Follow me as I go through the process of placing a bet, (with my soon-to-be lucky tote lady) then watching a race and cheering my horse home, at the expense of fellow Voice Tabitha. I think this truly shows the range...

The Best way to Bet- The St Leger Meeting

As one of the new ‘voices’ of the races I’m sure you’re thinking: “This guy will be clued up, lets look to him for a tip or two”. Well I’m afraid to tell you my track record on horses is...

So here I am...

Hello there. So here I am, I'm one of the first Voices of the Races. I've done a lot of things in my time, from cookery to fire-breathing, but this is one of the most exciting. I'll be honest, I...

About Tom Crosthwaite

Hi! I'm Tom. I'm a young chap from Putney, I'm a journalist/reporter and have been a presenter for three years doing many shows on tv, internet ('shows on the internet'- steady) and even out in China.

On top of this I am a qualified chef and a fire breather! It isn't useful, but is great for a bit of hair singeing fun.

I'm London born and bred and have a very sporty background from competing in the London Youth Games in Gymnastics, winning the ISFA cup for football and playing county squash for all age groups.

Unfortunately this means nothing when it comes to horses. Although I have a great love for them, and for having a flutter, I know so little about them that I generally gamble on the horse that has just gone to the loo, which has so far failed miserably!

That is why I will be focussing on the good times to be had around the race course, while asking punters and trainers to give the tips on how to pick the right horse!

I'll also be bringing my mates along and we'll see what sort of mischief we get up to on our days out.
