New Year, New McCririck!
Goodbye Burlington Bertie, hello Beau Brummel
Bet you can’t recognise the dapper gent in the smart business suit…
New Year is the traditional time for transformations and TV’s tic-tac man John McCririck has decided to have a makeover.

The normally eccentric star of Channel 4 Racing has discarded his trademark tweeds and deerstalker hat, and swapped his other out-dated Victorian clothes for a modern two-piece suit and a trendy trilby.
Also, John’s distinctive bushy sideburns – which he calls his wackers - and his long, wild hair have been tamed by a makeover team, hired by Racing for Change, a body that aims to change the image of horse racing.
A spokesman said: “The aim of Racing for Change is broaden the appeal of horse racing and we've done a great deal but there was one rather large dinosaur who still needed modernising.
“Thankfully, Big Mac was game to give it a go but we're not sure how long it will last!”
McCririck, 71, admits: “Reluctantly, I accept that looking so suave and dapper makes me a trendy fashion icon for those who aspire to re live their hippy past."
And long-suffering wife of 40 years, Jenny, whom John calls The Booby, added: "My John has always been a gorgeous, handsome hunk so whatever he wears looks amazing.
“Actually I rather like the new look. He needed the slightly mysterious, tantalising image of a debonair lad about town- but please don't tell him."
