Malton Stable Open Day Makes A Return
The Stables Open Day is making a very welcome and long overdue return to Malton on Sunday 26th August, 2012. In previous years this highly-successful and well-attended event has attracted racing enthusiasts from all over the country and this year promises to be no different! 25 of the local yards around Malton, Norton and further afield across Ryedale are opening their stables to the general public in what promises to be a great day for the local racing industry.
Between 9am and 1pm racing enthusiasts young and old can meet some of the stars of the turf face to face. It has been a great few months for racing in this area and this is an unmissable opportunity to get to know some of the horses and trainers who have been making the headlines. Admission is only £10 and includes free parking and coaches to transport the public around the yards in Norton and out to Richard Fahey’s yard at Musley Bank. Buses will be leaving the Market Place in Malton regularly to ensure access to all yards is quick and easy. Even better news is that accompanied under 16’s are free.
Displays, parades and contributions from other industry-related organisations will also feature at many of the participating yards and a further bonus to visitors is discounted entry to Beverley’s fixture on the same afternoon, when some of equine stars they have seen could be in action at one of Yorkshire’s most picturesque and welcoming racecourses.
Charities set to benefit from the day include the Malton Hospital, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Jack Berry’s Rehabilitation Centre, which is to be located in Malton.
