Racehorse Ownership Set To Make Lily Allen Smile

Following hotly on the heels of the likes of Benny Andersson, Ronnie Wood and Ronan Keating, Lily Allen has become the latest celebrity from the music industry to take up racehorse ownership.

The Smile star, who is currently in the studio working on her third album, has claimed in the past that she likes nothing better than relaxing on a Saturday with the Racing Post and found time in her busy schedule last year to attend the Cheltenham Festival. Along with her husband Sam, she has decided to further this interest and has joined the ownership syndicate, De La Warr Racing.

Lily and Sam will now be looking forward to the racecourse debuts of the two-years-olds they have purchased shares in. The Sir Henry Cecil-trained Ombrellino is a son of 2008 Epsom Derby hero New Approach, while Polish Rider is in the care of Champion Trainer Richard Hannon and will also be hoping to follow in his father’s footsteps, being by Royal Ascot winner Dutch Art.

As well as producing multi-platinum-selling albums, Lily has also acted, opened up a fashion rental shop and recently launched her own record label. Hopefully, she will be able to find some time away from all these activities to see one of her potential stars hit the race track before the birth of her second child, who is due in December.

If you would like to follow Lily into the world of racehorse ownership but haven’t quite racked up the royalties from millions of single sales, make sure that you check out the new website own1.co.uk, which looks at a range of various affordable ownership schemes.
