Meet The Stars And Visit The Yards At Horseracing's HQ
Have you ever wanted to look behind the scenes and see what goes on at some of the leading stables at Horse Racing’s HQ? Well, now you have the chance as for one day some of the most famous yards in the country will be opening their doors as part of the Betfair Newmarket Open Day on Sunday 23rd September.
The day kicks off in the historic horseracing centre at 9.30am and you will have the chance to see your equine heroes and meet some of the world’s most famous trainers and jockeys. In the morning you will be able to look around the yards of the likes of Sir Micheal Stoute, Luca Cumani, James Fanshawe and Michael Bell, whilst also getting the chance to see horses put through their paces on the world-renowned Newmarket gallops. If that’s not enough to keep you entertained, a number of Newmarket’s other famous facilities are opening their doors for you to look around, including The Jockey Club Rooms, Tattersalls, National Horse Racing Musem, The National Stud and British Racing School.
In the afternoon attention turns to the Rowley Mile Show up on the renowned racecourse for a whole host of entertainment from 1pm until 4.30pm. There’s a fast-paced Stable Staff and a Trainers vs Jockeys Go Karting competition, while the likes of Frankie Dettori, Hayley Turner and William Buick will take part in the Pony Club Mounted Games.
Admission is £15 per ticket and children under 12 are free.
