Fashion on the Field crowns its first worthy winner!
Top-end horseracing met high-class fashion last week at York’s Ebor Festival, as Britain’s first Debenhams Fashion on the Field event encouraged racegoers to take to the catwalk to compete for an exceptional prize package.
Throughout the week, world-renowned fashion designer, Jeff Banks, and leading milliner, Yvette Jelfs, hosted the hugely successful event that looked to find the most stylish dresser of the Festival. A judging-panel consisting of some of fashion’s biggest names including Matthew Williamson, Ben de Lisi and John Rocha were treated to an exceptional crop of entrants at the Fashion on the Field Marquee, with a dazzling array of styles and colours being paraded on the catwalk.
With over 1000 participants over the course of the week, the eventual winner, Victoria Bailey from Leeds, proved too hot to handle, scooping victory in a beautiful dress from high-street fashion favourite; Mango.
Having impressed the judges in Saturday’s heat, Victoria carried the momentum into the Final where she eventually walked away with the prize worth over £10,000, including a holiday to St. Vincent, a £500 Shopping Spree in Debenhams and dinner at The Ivy with Jeff Banks.
TV Style Expert and Finals Judge Mark Heyes commented: “I loved Victoria’s whole look, but what stole it for me was her striking silver-blonde hair teamed with a colour matched fascinator. Her complete look was elegant, timeless and perfect for the races. It was simply stunning.”

Victoria added: “I’m speechless, just so thrilled to have won and to have been chosen by the judges. It’s been an amazing experience, and I still can’t believe the amazing prize I’ve won!”
