Ripon
Yorkshire’s Garden Racecourse, so called because of the beautiful floral displays throughout the racecourse.
Ripon has been staging races for over 300 years, and to this day has some of the most prestigious races in the calendar. The Great St Wilfred Handicap in August is probably the highlight but there are many attractions of a day at Ripon races.
Ripon is one of the country's most beautiful, and unusual, cities. Thanks to its breathtaking medieval cathedral, this small bustling market town is actually one of the oldest cities in England.
