Carlisle
Racing in the historic border city of Carlisle began in the 16th Century with two of the racecourse’s annual events – the Carlisle Bell and Cumberland Plate - dating back to that era.
Despite its history, Carlisle racecourse boasts first class facilities following extensive redevelopment and the building of the Edinburgh Wollen Mill Grandstand in 2002, providing racegoers with one of the premier attractions in the region.
A traditional port of call for many of Jump racing’s big hopes in the Autumn, the racecourse provides top class entertainment over both spheres, in the beautiful Lakes setting.
